Signed Scrimshaw Preban Ivory Buck Knife 112ColorfulBeautifully scrimshawed buck knife, signed and dated 1980. The pheasant scrimshawed on the knife is done in color and is absolutely beautiful. I was told when i purchased this knife in 1980 that it was genuine ivory of course it was purchsaed prior to the ban on ivory, so i believe that to be true. I do not know what type of ivory it is, but again was told that it is authentic. I do not have a certificate of authenticity i am only going by what i was told.
The folded length of the knife is 4 1/4 long, and the open knife length is 7 1/8. The knife is in very good condition, as you can see from the pictures, although there is some scratching from normal wear and tear on a knife that is 28 years old. I am starting the bidding relatively low, but i do have a reserve price set on the knife with the amount that i believe it to be worth. Thank you for looking and good luck!
